Steward Leadership Summit 2023
The Steward Leadership Summit 2023: Creating a Collective Better Future, was held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, on 21 November 2023.
From the pandemic to geopolitical friction and a looming global economic slowdown, successive shocks have elevated uncertainty. While businesses navigate the volatile and ever-shifting landscape, the tension between profit and purpose has never been greater. Meanwhile, the call for climate action is intensifying as environmental degradation causes stress in global food security. Separately, rapidly advancing technologies, while creating growth opportunities, have accentuated inequality and exclusion.
This year’s summit looked at the realities of keeping sustainability sustainable amid turbulent times. It explored the secrets behind resilient and enduring companies. It featured conversations with steward leaders on the challenges of taking resolute actions to forge a sustainable future for all amid conflicting priorities. We also tapped expert views on how businesses can leverage and harness the strength of today’s technologies for good.
The 2023 Steward Leadership 25 (SL25) list was also unveiled during the summit. This list showcases 25 projects from the Asia-Pacific region that have demonstrated steward leadership excellence. SL25 is jointly curated by Stewardship Asia Centre (SAC), INSEAD Hoffmann Global Institute for Business and Society, WTW and The Straits Times. More details on SL25 and the 2023 honouree list here.
